A-1D AD-4 Skyraider Aircraft 1/32 Trumpeter

Description The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was designed as the new generation torpedo bomber. At the end of the War its general mission was changed and the Navy applied the Skyraider as a new attacker due to the aircraft’s outstanding performance in strike missions. The AD-4 is the largest production model of the family of the Skyraiders. A new 2700 horsepower R-3350-26WA engine was installed and the windshield was strengthened to protect the pilot from the bullets. A series of new equipment, including two extra guns, a P-1 autopilot, and a new arresting hook were also applied. The AD-4 was renamed A-1D with the new nomenclature of the US Navy in 1962.
